"We are currently producing the energy we need," explains CEO Giulio Contaldi. "For us, this was an important goal. At the Vimodrone plant, we test our compressors before delivering them to customers. This means that we use energy to produce compressed air that is not used in an industrial process but rather to test the correct operation of the compressors. By producing the energy we need, we don鈥檛 鈥榳aste鈥� community resources. Even before building the system, we relied on suppliers who guaranteed that 80% of energy supplied came from sustainable sources. Building the system has allowed us to increase this percentage and also to produce extra energy to feed into the grid."
